  • Lead Hydrologic Technician for the district's stream gage crew; managing and maintaining the district's stream gage network of over 100 stream gages. Work includes installation, repair, and inspections to ensure gages (DCPs) are operational and providing accurate and reliable data. Performs quality control checks on data and corrects data as needed.
  • Project Delivery Team (PDT) member on current and future Lock 4, 5, 5A, and 7 End Cell design-build contracts. Evaluated impacts to gage wells, provided information to the PDT to ensure SOW included water management considerations.
  • Developing SOW and coordinating a plan for future stream gage equipment installation at the three flood control structures that are part of the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion project.
  • Continues responsibility of equipment and material purchasing and procurement. Based on available budget, analyzes, prioritizes, and recommends equipment upgrades and needs to minimize outages and maintain data collection.
  • Strives to increase safety and safety awareness for the gage crew. The gage crew has implemented and completed first-aid, CPR, fall protection, and other safety related training.

  • Works in the General Engineering Operations Center (GENOC) providing strategic, operational, and theater level general engineering support, supporting over 120 Army Reserve units to include Field Force Engineering (FFE) units.
  • Planned, coordinated, and conducted technical engineer training for Army Reserve Engineers. Training included Base Camp Master Planning (BCMP), Joint Construction Management System (JCMS), AutoCAD, and Civil3D, Surveying Equipment, USACE Field Force Engineering (FFE), and Contracting Officer Representative training.
  • Reviews Scopes of Work (SOW) and construction plans in various stages of the design process for future Army Reserve construction.
  • Assisted in updating the Theater Engineer Command's Construction Standing Operating Procedures (CONSOP).

  • Technical Lead on a Project Delivery Team (PDT) designing stream gages for three major flood control structures as part of the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion Project. Led the team from design conception to inclusion into one new base contract and three contract modifications. Effort involved continuous coordination between engineers and project managers to ensure projects were completed on-time to meet construction schedules; weekly and bi-weekly coordination meetings; and reviewed construction plans and specifications to ensure they met design concepts and incorporated needed details.
  • Participated in the BCOES review of the Big Sandy Lake Rehabilitation Project from Water Management's perspective.
  • Provided innovative stream gaging solutions that incorporate new technologies and updated equipment. This included conventional and unconventional methods in collecting precipitation and other meteorological data relevant to the district's Civil Works and Navigation missions.
  • Responsible for equipment purchases utilizing both credit card and contracts to meet Water Management's stream data collection mission. For contracts, developed Scope of Work (SOW) and equipment specifications. Monitored contract performance, ensuring contractor meet contractual obligations in time, delivery, and that equipment met required specifications.
  • I build strong working relationships throughout the district and with other agencies resulting in reduced field trips and reductions in stream gage outages for both cost and time savings to USACE.
  • Responsible for ensuring the $670,000 yearly USGS cooperative agreement is completed and accurate.
  • Experienced in public relations through over 15 media interactions that included interviews with television, radio, and newspaper outlets. The majority of the interactions were conducted during the district's annual snow measurement surveys in which I have been an integral part of.

Developed and maintained unit's radiation safety program required for the unit's soil density gauge. Provided mentorship to junior soldiers in both technical skills and career development.
  • Supervised and conducted about 15 land and construction surveys during the unit's annual training in Goose Bay, Canada.
  • Prepared construction labor, equipment, and bill of material (BOM) estimates for various notional construction projects during multiple unit training events.
