Summary

My combined experiences of leading ASU and many years in the library systems have deepened my understanding and appreciation of different cultures and backgrounds. In ASU I was a leader in organizing fundraisers where we raised hundreds of dollars to raise awareness to the Asian hate crimes happening around in the country. We fostered a welcoming environment in a school where Asians were a minority, while jointly working with outside groups in outreach attempts to make a change in the greater community. Working in the SPL and UW library systems have given me the chance to interact with a wide variety of people. Overtime I grew to be highly skilled at supporting individuals of all age groups and abilities, as I am now able to better accommodate and understand their struggles and needs.
