I worked as a nail technician, I did nails and worked here for 2 years to earn some allowances. My mom owned this store and I started helping her and learning this stuff since 2022. Sometimes when my mom isn’t here, I help with finances in the store and since my mom does not speak english, I do most of the translation and I can also help with tech stuff. In 2022, since I was only there to help, I was earning $10 a day and tips. Now I earn $60 a day and tips. I work for 10 hours a day and come by and help when it’s busy and I am free. In the summer, I work for 4 days a week, 11 hours a day on weekdays and 10 hours a day on Sunday. When it’s busy, I can earn around $100 a day. But when it’s not, I earn around how much I get paid a day. I have some experiences with cats. In the summer of 2023, I found 8 stray cats in the backyard of my mom’s nail salon. 4 kittens, 1 teen cat and 3 adult cats. Ever since the day I found their existence, I bought cat food with my allowance and feed them everyday, 3 times a day with canned, dry, snacks, water, all sorts of cat food. I also made sure they were not overfed throughout the day and checked on them constantly. I also bought toys for them to play. After feeding them for a few days, I contacted my friend who has pets and who’s family member works with stray cats to find them a home. After around a month or two of feeding, the cats were not afraid of us anymore and we managed to catch them so my friends family member can take them to vets to get them spayed and neutered. Then she took all 8 cats in temporarily until she found a home for them. Eventually she found homes for all of them and grew up living in happy warm homes.
