
I have been an elementary school teacher for the past sixteen years. During twelve of those years I was the Camp Director for Rye Recreation's Upper Camp. I have an extensive background in recreation including many years as a American Red Cross Certified Life Guard and Swim Instructor. I spent fourteen years working with people with disabilities at YAI (National Institute for People with Disabilities).
Responsible for the operation of a fun, safe, and rewarding day camp experience for children entering grade three through six. Ran the day to day operations of the camp as well as overseeing pre-camp set up and various administration duties. Interviewed prospective staff members and adhered to all NYS Dept. of Health guidelines and regulations. Responsible for the camp communications between administrative staff and camp families. Maintained a healthy and safe environment both on site and off during camp trips. Oversaw all health and safety issues including all medical needs with assistance of designated E.M.T./Nurse.
