- Communicate with field personnel regarding fueling locomotives to the appropriate levels to not only achieve the required distance, but also save the company money by not oversupplying fuel that is not needed.
- Plan with other NOC officials regarding current mainline operations, so power can be utilized elsewhere if necessary, to avoid locomotive dwell time.
- Daily review of foreign locomotive counts to adequately route them offline, effectively driving down foreign carrier HPH claims.
