My mission to pursue neurology began with a personal loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. My uncle passed away in India, not because his condition was untreatable, but because the local healthcare system lacked resources and qualified professionals. This opened my eyes to global medical inequality and motivated me to make a difference.
The brain’s complexity, vulnerability, and central role in human life drew me to neurology. It controls movement, memory, emotion, reasoning, identity, and much more; yet so much of it remains unexplored. How can consciousness emerge from mere neurons and impulses? To a mind reflecting on itself, it is a paradox, and yet it works. This is only one of many unanswered questions that inspire my curiosity.
I hope to become a neurosurgeon who not only heals but also serves underserved communities and spreads medical knowledge and practices. It’s not only about advancing medicine, but about making care accessible to those who need it most.
