My long term objective with joining the Border Patrol is to become part of BORTAC. Joining as a GL-5 will allow me to get my foot in the door to work towards Special Operations. Previous jobs and small businesses I have worked in have allowed me to learn to communicate effectively with other people even under stress. I have a hunger to want to do something new with my life, and I will strive to be a great agent within the Border Patrol.
Manager of my own vending machine business, where I learned alot about negotiation; what really is the route issue? Why can’t a deal happen? and how I could overcome those objections. I have a license to carry in the state of Texas. I have taken a few MMA and Jiu-Jitsu classes, very basic knowledge in grappling. Bilingual (spanish/english) 8 years of customer service work.
This job helped me to learn to de-escalate customers when they have high emotions. It has also shown me how I need to take control of conversations to steer us to where we need to go.
This job allowed me to get experience in working with people, this job taught me how to identify potentially intoxicated as I would be held responsible if they did anything after I sold to them
As a cook/grill I had to lead my team to making tickets fast and correct. This job helped me to learn how to work under a lot of pressure during heavy rushes, and a hot kitchen while also maintaining the standards that the restaurant required.
