For the first few years in the work force I was a customer service associate at Lowes. I received phone calls, transferred calls, took messages and cashed customers out while making sure to serve the best customer service.
I then moved on to a better more stable job with HHHN as a front office assistant, for 5 years as a full time employee and 2 as a per diem, where I documented messages, filed medical records, took care of insurances to ensure our patients were getting the care they deserved and needed. While taking some of these phone calls as the front office staff I had to make many determinations of whether or not they were urgent calls or non urgent. I was required to know and understand different prescriptions as well.
In 2015 I had my 2nd son, I feel this is relevant because he came with many obstacles (medical) and has kept me on my toes ever since. I spent most of his first year in the hospital with him. He had to have a tracheostomy and a g-tube placed when he was a little over 2 months old. Everything he went through was extremely life changing for our entire family, I want to add there was also some good that had came out of it. I didn’t know that I could ever handle something so scary till I had no other choice but to be the strength that held everything together. I had to learn how to care for him 100% of the time, with that came all sorts of machines and equipment. To be able to follow signs of him needing oxygen or immediate medical care. He also taught me patience beyond belief. He made me a better person and a better mother. He is now 8, will be 9 this year and thriving.
• Cashed customers out in a timely manner.
• Answered phones and helped them with their concerns, while also passing messages along to managers and different departments.
• Made and maintained a fun loving relationship with many children.
• While working at the Ticonderoga School District I have also been an afternoon bus monitor for 3 of the years I’ve worked there. Which required me to maintain a safe environment for the children. Taking attendance. Helping the bus driver get all kids off at the correct stops. Making sure the younger children were awake and ready for their stop.
