Carrying out automotive work in my free time has bestowed a level of troubleshooting and diagnostic skill upon me that has become immensely effective in my professional life. There have been instances where I encountered problems that no one else has documented (VW expansion tank silica packet failure and BMW fuel filler neck collapse) and my ability to diagnose the issue was truly put to the test by using a combination of process of elimination and root-cause analysis. After finding the solutions to these issues I made sure to document them via social media groups so that others who may face the same issue in the future would not be left without a resource.
