Job Description: The Customer Service Manager manages the staff, processes and systems related to the servicing of our customers and the support of the sales staff. Provides team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction and professional development to successfully support the customers and Sales.
  
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 
  
Process Improvement

* Looks for opportunities for process simplification and improvements.
* Directs the team in the creation and monitoring of key process improvement measurements.
* Designs and reports individual and departmental performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  
Coaching/Counseling

* Challenges team members in providing exceptional support to both external and internal customers.
* Focuses on helping team members improve their skills and knowledge through day-to-day coaching.
* Assists team members in resolving problems through the use of counseling and coaching skills.
  
Performance Feedback

* Ensures an effective performance tracking and feedback system is in place, which includes a comprehensive set of metrics.
* Conducts regular on time performance appraisals of all team members.
* Schedules and conducts special appraisals, as needed, with focus on areas needing improvement as determined by regular appraisal.
  
Decision Making

* Makes effective independent decisions representing day-to-day issues.
* Involves fellow team members in collaborative or team-empowered decisions based upon the company's guidelines.
* Effective Problem Solving
* Helps team members develop proficient knowledge and use of all problem-solving tools.
* Takes responsibility for departmental utilization of corrective action forms and charting
  
Hiring /Training

* Ensures an efficient training program is in place, which includes written documentation of competencies necessary to be successful at the job, classes and courses required for the job and also those classes and courses that have been completed.
* Completes needs assessment form for the Human Resource Department.
* Participates in the hiring process with fellow team members.
* Participates in the training and development processes with the departmental team trainer(s).
  
Goal Setting/Planning

* Helps the departmental team develop goals, action plans, and time tables.
* Spends time anticipating potential problems and develops plans to prevent crisis from occurring.
  
Leading Meetings

* Takes responsibility for departmental meeting time, place and agenda preparation.
* Effectively facilitates team meetings by helping team members communicate their ideas and opinions openly and clearly.
* Maintain Departmental Work Resources
* Ensures that work resources are reviewed and updated as needed.
  
Administration of Departmental Policies and Procedures

* Assumes the responsibility to resolve team member problems of attitude and interpersonal deficiencies through the use of counseling.
* Supports and adheres to all company disciplinary action procedures.
* Supports and adheres to all company personnel policies and procedures.
* Makes sure all departmental procedures are adhered to by all of the team members.
  
Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree Required
* 3-5 years of customer service or similar experience preferred
* 2-3 years of management experience preferred
* Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
* Effective communication throughout all levels of the organization
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross functional and team-oriented environment
