I went into this job as a host with no prior experience since it was my first job. I ended up being able to work in a fast paced environment that has you making wait times, taking reservations, and taking takeout orders. I then worked my way to expediting, and had to organize windows filled with food from soups, and salads to entrees in a timely manner. Since you were the one communicating with the front and back of house. When I turned eighteen I got into serving and had to learn about alcohol, and different drinks that we're more difficult to get used to because I'm not at drinking age yet. But I will say expediting has helped me learn the food menu like it's the back of my hand, I know what everything comes with and can thoroughly break down the menu for customers. This job has shown me not only how to read people based off their wants, but also their needs. I learned to do before they even ask, it's all about predicting.
