I was hired at Monroe County Hospital in 1987 as a Radiology Transcriptionist with on-the-job training. After a few years, In wanting to learn more, I then received on the job training for medical coding. Went through the transition of ICD 9 to ICD 10 through online courses and implemented that change for the medical records department. There have been a lot of changes in the medical records profession and I have been involved in a lot those in some capacity or another. In 2019, I was asked to take the position of Medical Records Manager in which I am currently serving.
