History of working for the neurosurgery department at DHR. I have returned to DHR since leaving in 2021. With this experience I have grown to learn patience, understanding, and a new level of care for my patients. With this position I have been placed in intake (vitals), backup (answering phone calls for MA’s such as refills, and referral status), and check out (clearance and referrals). With the neurosurgery department I am currently under the direction of four separate providers which has also taught me diligence, proper communication, and organisation within the department office.
I am a newly graduated LVN with clinical experience through my time at RGV College both through the program, and through my preceptorship. I worked over a period of 18 months in various departments such as Med Surge, maternity, pediatrics, behavioral, and experience in the nursing home. At this time I am looking to pursue a career that will further my education and give me the experience I need to practice the things I have learned through nursing school.
I was a part time floater. I went through family practice and stayed there for a month with vitalising patients, taking labs, administering vaccines, and prepping for the provider. With that I was able to
transition to full time at an urgent care in Rexburg Idaho. There I did the exact same as I had in the family practice facility, but was also able to participate in procedures such as draining an abscess, removing stitches, eye washes, and cleaning severe wounds.
