Community Service
I have participated in a variety of community service and outreach activities on the islands of Kauaʻi and Oʻahu. On Kauaʻi, I served in the Children’s, Youth, and Young Adults Choir at Immaculate Conception and also mentored children participating in the choir. I volunteered with Kauaʻi Economic Opportunity (KEO), where I helped provide meals and support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
On Oʻahu, I continued my community involvement by volunteering with St. Augustine Church in Waikīkī to provide meals to individuals experiencing homelessness and assisting with outreach efforts at Keahou Shelter, where I helped provide meals and support to low-income individuals and families.
I also volunteered on Saturdays at KPT and Mayor Wright Housing, where I participated in activities with children, read books with them, and provided educational support to children who were developing their reading and writing skills. Through this work, I also helped encourage positive relationships among Micronesian and Polynesian youth and assisted children in developing stronger friendships and communication skills.
Additionally, I volunteered at Palolo Elementary School, where I assisted students with their homework and provided tutoring support. These experiences have allowed me to develop strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills while serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. My community service has strengthened my commitment to helping others, supporting youth development, and contributing positively to the communities I serve.
