Notice of Merit Awards June 2023 & July 2023

As a member of the Covert Response Unit I took part in the 2023 Initiative Task Force from June 12th to July 31st. The Focus on the initiative was the gang-related violence associated with gun crimes and drug trafficking in the East Service Area . This led to numerouse surveillance operations that concluded with the successful apprehension of suspects.


On July 7,2023 as a member of the Covert Response Unit I took part in the successful apprehension of two suspects found in possession of a stolen vehicle, whom were also later identified as actors also involved in a murder. Our team's situational awareness, personal initiative, and exceptional work ethic the successful outcome in a murder investigation would not have been possible. The work done by all those involved in this operation displayed an excellent example of outstanding teamwork in line with the mission of the San Antonio Police Department to improve the quality of life for its citizens by creating a safer environment in which they serve.
