Work History

Pharmacy Technician

Provisor Solutions
03.2024 - Current
  • I was contracted by Provisor to work at the Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital on the Twentynine Palms Naval base in March of 2024. Not only do I type, fill, and dispense medications, I often catch provider errors and contact them to correct the mistake. I maintain the Parata filling machine by refilling the caps, vials, labels, and various medications. I check for expired medications on the shelves and in the refrigerator to store them away for proper disposal at a later time. I process and fill available prescriptions to load into the local Script Center machine. I prepare the Script Center machine by loading ready and linked prescriptions into the lockers or totes for patients to pick up anytime at their convenience. I return medications to stock after 10 days of being left on the shelf or inside the Script Center machine. I help maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy by sanitizing each station and its equipment along with the chairs in the waiting area. I shred loose papers/labels with patient information every day as to not violate HIPAA. I file away written or faxed prescriptions received throughout the day as well as assist in double-counting controlled substances for my peers as needed. I fulfill patient needs by listening to their questions/concerns, guiding them to the appropriate person to best assist them, and by helping them in a timely manner.

Pharmacy Technician

New Pharmacy 2
11.2023 - 03.2024

My responsibilities consisted of maintaining the cleanliness of the building, keeping ready prescriptions alphabetically organized in the designated totes, typing and filling prescriptions, dispensing medications to the correct patients, filing written and faxed prescriptions along with vaccine paperwork, and ensuring the queues for waiting prescriptions were minimal. I also helped stock the shelves and balanced the register till at the end of every closing shift. Our main goal was to provide customer satisfaction so I always go above and beyond for my patients when I can.

Front End & Pharmacy Cashier

Rite Aid
10.2021 - 11.2023
  • I was hired as a front end cashier but after a month, I was asked to work in the pharmacy. The fast-paced environment and the multitude of tasks quickly became the start of my career path. In October of 2022, I acquired my national pharmacy technician certification and in April of 2023, I acquired my California license. While working in the pharmaceutical setting, I had a variety of tasks including gathering and properly disposing of HIPAA trash, organizing verified prescriptions alphabetically on the designated shelf, stocking new (non-controlled) inventory every weekday, logging the invoice from the inventory shipment, contacting patients regarding their medications, ensuring patients receive a consultation by the pharmacist if necessary, answering phone calls, sending faxes to providers, taking care of patients at the drive-thru window, drop-off, and pick up windows. I also navigated NexGen, checked valid forms of identification for sales regarding behind-the-counter products, and ensuring that the pharmacy was clean and ready for the next day. I have learned how to de-escalate situations and give patients excellent customer service. Time management and organization are both skills that have been refined while working in a pharmacy. I know how to accurately interpret written prescriptions, reconstitute medications with the correct amount of distilled water, and fill a ScriptPro machine.

Head Cashier

The Home Depot
05.2020 - 07.2021
  • I was hired on as a cashier but was promoted in October of 2020 to head cashier. From then on, my responsibilities included writing the daily schedule for the front end, opening and filling all of the registers with money, unlocking self-checkout, ensuring the cash drawer was deposited with correct amount of money in the morning, relieving cashiers for their breaks and lunches, closing all of the registers in the store, bagging the money from every till to send to bookkeeping at night, making the closing announcements, auditing the registers and self-checkout, balancing the money drawer at the end of the night, ensuring the floors were swept and trash was taken out, wiping down the registers and plexiglass shields, front-facing the snacks and drinks in the self-checkout area, unlocking electronic merchandise at the front of the store, de-escalating hostile customers and situations, and giving outstanding customer service. I also managed multiple rushes of people throughout the day while keeping adequate coverage of cashiers on registers. I had to ensure that all registers stayed under and over a certain dollar amount so I made multiple requests and deposits to bookkeeping as well.
