Extracurricular activities

  • Football- As a member of the Flower Mound High School football team, I demonstrate leadership skills such as commitment, discipline, and teamwork through consistent participation in team meetings, practice, and games. My role as a team player on the football team involved partaking in workouts to maintain my physical condition, learning complex plays with multiple steps in order to be able to score on offense, and also executing intricate play designs on the field while dealing with pressure from the crowd and coaches. Through football, I was able to develop strong leadership, time management skills, and learn the ability to stay focused and locked in on the game in a highly demanding environment.
  • Mu Alpha Theta- I partake in Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) to promote math excellence and academic achievement. My role involves collaborating with my peers to solve advanced math problems that proved to be difficult and also to compete in math related events and competitions to support our club. Being a part of this club allowed me to demonstrate skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem solving skills while following the organization’s morals of service and scholarship.
  • English Honor Society- As a member of the English Honor Society chapter at Flower Mound High School, I contributed to a community that is based on academic excellence and critical thinking in order to develop complex thoughts to base discussions on for members to add their own views. My role in this club involved participating in book club discussions, analyzing diverse pieces of literature, and partaking in events such as Author of the Month that showed my deep appreciation for literature and language. Throughout the club, I was able to demonstrate strong writing and public speaking skills and the ability to develop a complex understanding of literature, all while supporting the goal of the organization, which is to promote the importance of studying literature and English in our society today.
  • DECA- As a member of the DECA chapter at Flower Mound High School, I was able to develop skills in business management and financial analysis through team collaboration and competitive events. I recently qualified for the state competition which is hosted in Dallas in the event Financial Service Team Decision Making (FTDM) which required me to have an in depth preparation in finance, banking, investments, and customer service plans. I also had to put aside dedicated time to studying flashcards for vocabulary terms for the written exam and practicing roleplay scenarios with my partner. I had to analyze case studies in a short window of time and tweak any presentation techniques to ensure that our presentation would be perfectly executed in the short time given. Being a part of this club and experience allowed me to reinforce my teamwork, professional communication, and problem solving skills in a real world business environment.
  • Junior Leadership Program FM- As a member of Junior Leadership Program Flower Mound, I developed leadership, communication, and collaboration skills through partaking in meetings and projects. Every month, we meet together in a location in our town that could be a franchise of a business or a business started here in Flower Mound. We have a variety of guest speakers who speak to us about how they got into this business and what leadership skills got them to this point in their life. They teach us about the principles of leadership and how we can use it in different situations and environments. Throughout this program, I was able to enhance my ability to work better with others in a team setting and lead by example to promote a positive environment.
  • PSAT Team- As a member of the Class of 2027 PSAT Team at Flower Mound High School, I worked with my fellow classmates to study and review math, reading, and writing skills in order to prepare for the 11th grade PSAT/NMQST. The requirements for this class were scoring at least a 182 on the index scale for the 10th PSAT. My role in the class included constant reviewing outside of class and repetitive practicing of practice problems. Being in this class helped me with goal setting and time management whilst seeing the importance in academic improvement through short windows of time.
  • Tutor for Schoolhouse.world- I have been hand selected by Collegeboard as a SAT tutor for individuals who plan on taking the SAT test coming up. My responsibilities are hosting sessions and workshops twice a week for 4 weeks straight. I go over concepts such as advanced math, geometry and trigonometry, algebra, and problem-solving and data analysis. Through this, I am able to gain a connection with the students I tutor to help them reach their target score on the SAT while also making sure they are comfortable and safe in our sessions.
