My mom came to the United States from Haiti when I was 8 months in the belly. Growing up school was very dicult for me because I didn't speak nor understand English. My parents only spoke Haitian Creole, so I had to learn how to speak English in school. I was in ESOL which, was a program that helped students that doesn't speak or understand English. I nally tested out of ESOL in middle school and it was a great feeling because now I consider myself as bilingual. While in high school, I knew I wanted to become a teacher because I wanted to show students that nothing in life is easy, but if you put in the effort and work you will succeed. I want to be able to make a difference in the lives of my future students. Fast forward a couple of years, I graduated from high school with honors in May of 2017. I continued my education at Valencia College and received my Associate's Degree (AA) in May of 2021. I graduated from Bethune Cookman University with my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Education. I someday hope to give back and change my student's lives.
