In December of 2024, my first step to this big decision in my education was receiving my Medical Terminology Certificate. I was able to learn terms within the career and got a better understanding and explanation of this field. After receiving my first certificate , I realized I enjoyed was I was getting educated about and I continued my courses. I have currently took a nursing program this year which involved many of these skills needed performed while obtaining my Medical Clinical Assistant Certificate. Throughout this process, we had many people educating us on these specific parts on this type of career. My classmates and I got the opportunity to experience this lesson through a professional professor coming from South Western College. I received my Customer Service Certificate through them including my college credits! It was an amazing opportunity the school offered us, and amazing tips to take with us through out this new journey. After learning more about every topic within this field, we starting working hands on with each of our classmates. I started off with locking in the vitals signs. I learned how to take, report, read correctly, etc, on this important information that will be implied on use everyday with patients. After that, I was able to sanitize, sterilize, and set up room for patients correctly step by step. Learning the basics, we moved on to injections (intradermal ,subcutaneous, and intramuscular). It was a very smooth process and got the best tips on each type. Getting that to complete understanding and practice we moved on to the venipunctures and capillary injections. We knew with blood specimen we would have to learn how to test the samples and take them to lab/machines. Including blood, I know urine is also another common thing that is work with, so we were able to take a urine test as well and put it through a reading machine. The shots were practiced 10 of each, 30 in total. Labs were practiced daily throughout the whole course everyday!
