My senior year of high-school at Berkshire School, I developed a year long independent research project where I studied Black Swan events and recessions. During my time studying these events I created an investment portfolio that was a low risk, moderate return, long term investment portfolio. I back-tested this portfolio over 2008 - 2022. In the simulation I ran I started out with an initial investment of $300,000 in 2008, my portfolio finished with a final balance of $1.545 million. At my portfolio's peak it's final balance was $2.1 million, however I kept the simulation running to test the volatility during a bear market. This led to an average return of 12.42% annually.
