I pass medications to the elderly on a 12 hour/ 16 hour rotation depending on if I stay over to complete the whole pass. My responsibility is to make sure that meds don't run out. At our facility we believe that hydration is top priority for the elderly so I also have to make sure that their water is constantly cold and I change the cups everyday. Between passing and checking the meds, passing out ice and changing the cups, I also help answer lights. Its a constant full day. I generally only sit down on my lunch.
I had to assists people to meals and done there laundry. If they needed any help it was mainly for their safety so they called us simply to be safe. Most of my clients went home shortly after rehab or was moved to long term care.
