  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all accredited media coming to NASA's Kennedy Space Center Press
    Site.
  • Vet and credential all media and space industry partners coming to Press Site.
  • Set up and manage on-site media credential check-in, which includes designing badges, ordering badges for print, making sure security is aware of the badge design and when to permit access to media with badges, organize the badges for efficient dispersal at our off-site badgin facility, check names off the roster of approved as they check in.
  • Coordinate media events and activities logistics, which includes securing access to secure facilities across property, coordinating with other departments across KSC to schedule events and activities, scheduling buses and security sweeps, and disseminating itineraries, proper safety rules, and proper attire to all participating media.
  • Coordinate film crews after gaining project approval from NASA headquarters. This duty entails hosting virtual meetings with directors to establish crew needs, then working with other departments to secure access to facilities and/or participation from subject matter experts.
  • Assist fellow media operations staff at Press Site to
    ensure the logistics operations such as temporary structures, land surveys and wildlife assessments (primarily protecting the keystone species, the gopher tortoise), mowing of essential outdoor areas, are completed prior to media activities.
  • Train other Press Site staff to support media activities as bus escorts, credentialing check-in support, and remote camera support.
  • Record keeping of media attendance by compiling data to provide upper management how many media were approved, how many attended, and how many are US citizens or foreign nationals.
  • Trained Foreign National Escort to transport and escort foreign nationals from designated and non-designated countries. Must know escort-to-media ratio and be fully briefed on export control and security concerns with foreign media. Secure separate transportation for foreign media and space industry partners.
  • Works with high-level visitors such as government officials and celebrities, interfacing and accommodating
    these visitors for launch activities, media engagement, and tours.
  • Completing multiple trainings to be fully briefed on security and safety measures of various secure and active operational facilities on KSC property such
    as the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), High Bay 3, Launch Complex 39B, Crawler Transporter (CT), Mobile Launcher (ML), and more.
