I answer non-emergency and emergency phone lines, obtain required information to determine type of response needed, information for responders, the safety of responders and enter into CAD (computer aided dispatch).

I dispatch calls for service to police departments & fire departments. I am responsible for prioritizing calls for service, the safety of our responders through status checks and providing scene safety information. I relay information obtained through Iowa/NCIC database systems, and local databases.

I enter stolen vehicles, missing persons, wanted persons, stolen articles, stolen guns into the Iowa/NCIC database. Maintain protection order paperwork as well as ensuring all information is current and up to date in local database as well as Iowa/NCIC systems.

I am a member of the mentor team and help new employees feel welcome, listen to their concerns, answer questions and help them succeed through the training program.

I was responsible for answer emergency and non-emergency medical calls, patient transport arrangements, non-medical related transportation arrangements.

I was responsible for dispatching ambulances to calls for service, placement of ambulances throughout areas of Scott County, and dispatch non-medical related transportation drivers to appropriate calls for service.

I was responsible for obtaining patient information for billing purposes, & patient privacy rights.
