Economic Service Worker

DOHS
Williamson, WV
06.2010 - 07.2022
  • I maintained a large caseload, and I worked with a variety of complex programs: SNAP, Medicaid, The Affordable Healthcare ACT, Emergency Assistance, LIEAP, School Clothing Allowance etc. All while being a bridge between families and community resources to ensure the clients got the assistance they needed when our agency wasn't able to or the assistance would be delayed. I processed applications, telephonic and face-to-face interviews, changes, cleared alerts and data exchanges for these programs within the time constraints. All while interpreting and applying policy to assure my cases were as accurate as possible. I was a backup to the Nursing Home Medicaid and the ADW Waiver Worker, which required more in-depth casework than just processing the applications or reviews, as those cases required a lot of contact with the Nursing facilities and Waiver agencies to provide much-needed services to some of the most vulnerable clients. I was also backup to my supervisor. I trained coworkers, answered questions, navigated my way through the Income Maintenance Manual, when the questions involved material that I was not familiar with.

Office Assistant II

  • Under general supervision, I worked in a fast paced high stress environment, multitasking clerical duties. I posted information to logs and ledgers as needed, always adhering to office procedures while calling for interpretation of said rules. I operated office equipment and routed incoming calls to the correct case worker in a timely and efficient manner. I also performed other related work as required.

Receptionist/PT Liaison

Pikeville Medical Center/Medial Leader
Pikeville, KY
03.2006 - 11.2009
  • I served as the primary receptionist for Pikeville Medical Center's good news newspaper, The Medical Leader. I greeted visitors, answered phone calls, and directed inquiries to appropriate staff. I also acted as a liaison between newspaper staff, hospital departments, and Human Resources, delivering drafts for proofreading and coordinating edits before publication. Provided administrative support, organized submissions, and maintained deadlines. Worked directly under my supervisor to complete additional duties and special projects as needed while ensuring professional and confidential communication.
