Summary

When I got out of high school I served a 18 month church mission in Bolivia learning Spanish. Living there truly taught me that I can get through hard times and embrace it, and to work hard as I was out in the heat each day knocking doors of people that didn’t want to talk to me for hours.

I feel that it has been very helpful as it goes with my work. Being in the insurance industry truly is like learning another language. It’s been most helpful for me to learn communication and how to use correct verbiage when talking to a client as well as knowing what coverages to use.

The agency I work for has been wonderful to be with, and really values the experience they make for clients.

I’ve also learned some system management on the computer which was confusing at first, but gradually grew better.

I believe overall, I have learned that I am able to adapt to newer ideas and ways even though it is hard initially. For me, it is a strength.

This company was an Herbalife company- specializing in protein and teas. I would make each drink/ shake according to the customer’s wants and would be by myself opening/closing the store while serving. This made me better equipped to handle bigger crowds that would walk in and help to manage their expectations.

So this one is a little different. My parents decided to open a soda shop, or rather become part of a franchise called Fiiz drinks. I was really young when it opened- about 13 years old. I still learned a lot in the 4 years that it was opened. I would go to pickup groceries for what was needed at the store with either my older brother or parents. As time went on, I was able to work behind the bar and make drinks, but also handle customers. In this industry, a lot of people will do anything for something free. This helped me to learn how to manage conflict with customers and resolve it. It was very beneficial for my learning. Unfortunately, Fiiz closed down right before I turned 17, but there are a lot of lessons I still remember and appreciate.
