Hello! I’m Austin, and I am currently an in-store shopper at an HEB in San Antonio, TX (SA39). My plan for the near future is to move to San Marcos, TX, to pursue a degree in Environmental Science. Working for HEB for almost a year so far has been a great experience, as I have met many nice people, and have been treated well by superiors and coworkers. Since I am moving to San Marcos soon, I would love to be able to transfer to SM1 and help to make a positive impact in any way I can.

- I started out working for HEB as a curbie, and I got promoted to the in-store shopper role after about three months of working hard as a curbie. While still learning the ins and outs of personal shopping, I was also given many EFC shifts, which I picked up quickly, and enjoyed. Now, my shifts mostly consist of shopper shifts, and I have grown to love being a shopper, despite my initial struggles with getting used to it. I was given the "Shopper of the Month" award recently, and I enjoy continuing to challenge myself to be more and more efficient in my work.

- During my time working with WORD at Canyon Lake, I worked almost entirely outdoors, and grew to be quite tolerant of Texas heat in the summer. My job duties at WORD consisted of keeping the parks clean, assisting park visitors in any way, and helping to build new amenities for the parks. I loved working with WORD, but I eventually had to leave because I was moving back home to San Antonio.

- During my time at Magnolia Pancake Haus, I worked as a busser right out of high school, which consisted of cleaning tables, doing dishes, greeting people as they walked in, helping other coworkers, and more cleaning. This job was very fast-paced, which I didn't mind because I like to stay busy and be active. I was given the "Magnolian of Greatness" award at one point, which is the dramatic equivalent of an Employee of the Quarter award that I was quite proud of. I ended up leaving Magnolia after almost a year so that I could gain new work experience elsewhere.
