My job duties as a field service technician vary from day to day some days i am doing scheduled maientance on units as of greasing mast rails lubing chains inspecting units for wearing parts or damaged parts hoses stretched chains main lift or free lift or just simply keeping them up to par with all the services on the moving components .

My job consists of removing and replacing worn wheels and greasing axles and bearings blowing out the units of dust on all the electrical components and inspecting the wear on the motor brushes and all worn parts also when on the road as a field tech you need to be able to bill your work day out in hours on jobs and submit good work orders with detailed repair notes on everything performed on units maintain a clean van and organized and also manage and plan your day accorndly to satisfy each customer and provide the best customer service you can to the customer

Also remember to drive safe and obey all the laws when driving a company vehicle to ensure you are being a safe driver obey the gps on vehicle and treat your van as your own while you are assigned to it and take care of it.

Being a field service technician also consists of having a open mind and trying to get the prob;em troubleshooted and fixed the same day if possible we work around and in factory warehouses that have alot of people working onsite as we are so we need to ensure we are practicing safe work habit to learn and be cautious of others around you we also work on electrical power from 110-480 so it id always important to follow the lock out procedure when working on equipment.

• When i first got hired on at the rear end shop i was hired on as a tear down tech in the shop that consists of taking apart rear ends and cleaning them of all debris and also tearing down rear ends that were going to be upgraded with posi air locker spool gears or just new bearing and seals also we would r&r transfer cases on several different vehicles.
• I advanced from that positions within weeks to doing it all as of tearing down rear ends and building them setting up backlash on the ring and pinion adjusting preload on carrier plumbing air lines for air lockers drilling and tapping fittings into the housing to be able to hook up the air locker system welding braces and shock mounts to the rear ends etc.
• As time went on i always also trained on how to run the front office while my boss was gone picking up parts for he shop due to ups delaying the deliveries so i was trained on writing work orders and adding labor to work orders and parts and taking payments when vehicles would be picked up by customers.
