Summary

To whom it may concern,

Overall I have had many experiences. I used to be a Grocery Clerk for over two and a half years with ample experience submitting complex orders and displaying products attractively. Becoming an adaptable team member with flexibility in supporting organization and department-wide needs. I demonstrate efficiency with strong stock management and merchandising abilities. I have proven skill in helping customers and multitasking in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.

I am also a Army National Guardsman dedicated to safety by establishing continuous patrols and effectively securing assigned buildings. Known for strong work ethic and ability to provide safe and secure environment. A dedicated team player and expert soldier achieving awards for adept service such as managing equipment, performing patrols providing updates to unit leaders, and protecting high value objectives during the DC riots. Proficient in assessing risk, maintaining safety gear and evaluating terrain. I have proven abilities in leadership and creative problem solving as a Corporal ready to bring soldiering skills gained from six years as an Infantrymen to those who ask. I am consistently recognized by superiors for positive attitude and ability to work with team members to achieve goals. As of recent I am in the process of switching to the air defense industry in the Guard to challenge myself and passion for defense of this nation.

After a year of tech and another year at Coastal Carolina University, i was able to study multiple forms of business, government relations & intelligence of foreign adversary's and allies, as well as managing money with a tight budget while being a full time student and part time employee with the mindset of a strong body and positive mind. I moved back home to pursue different values of work and experience.

Currently I am a full timer with Sherwin Williams Paint Company as a Paint Salesman. Thanks to my experience at Sherwin Williams, I have exceeded job expectations in sales and customer service for about two and half years now guiding customers in identifying and obtaining paint/related products and equipment in person and via telephone. As well as identifying type of jobs and assisting with product selection and processed payments. With adept knowledge I provided outstanding customer service through communication. From selling the newest, top of the line paint, to lead generation/cold calling, making new accounts for customers, teaching new hires, overcoming language barriers, managing courier deliveries.

On the side throughout my life I gained a lot of knowledge on being the best character I can be as a Boy Scout for six years achieving the highest rank of Eagle Scout. I became a hardworking community service volunteer experienced in raising funds, planning events and promoting organization within community. Articulate, organized, and motivated multitasker with good time management and survival skills. Bringing more than six years of experience in helping my community pick up trash, donate canned goods to the homeless, and building recreational areas for the public.

For about six months I also dedicated my life to being a volunteer firefighter on the side, giving me experience offering emergency response and collaborating with teams from car wrecks, fires, traffic control, etc. Being smart and poised with working extremely well in high-pressure situations and dedicated to protecting the public.

When I am not on the clock my hobbies include social events with friends, working out by building my body and mind at the gym (as far as achieving a personal training certificate in this field), learning how to poke around the engine bay of my car, and striving to acquire hands on knowledge of the defense industry.

I thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Barry Thornburg
