Summary
Immediately after high school, I attended the University of Southern Indiana where I studied Biology and English for several years before deciding to become a mother. Before taking time off to raise children I worked as a veterinary assistant, custodian, and in retail. While being a stay-at-home mother I have studied Opticianry in hopes of entering the field of either Optometry or Ophthalmology as an assistant or Optician. I have experience in customer service, sanitation, and some basic knowledge of the equipment and methods used in Optometric pretesting and Ophthalmology offices based on my studies and experience. I am familiar with the operation of various devices such as auto refractors, tonometers and Optomap machines. I also have skills in reception and insurance authorization. My ultimate goals are to work towards my Optician certification, and/or work with Opthalmic surgeons.
