one of my greatest achievements was when I was working at Columbia Public Health where I worked in a Team of MD, RN & MA while working in this team I wrote up a Asthma day for kids that included all lour patients kids aged 7-13yrs. They would check in with our designated person receive a Passport stamp then see the MA (me) get all vitals immunizations blood draws receive their next Passport stamp then off to the RN who would complete any paperwork needed for the Asthma check or school the receive their next Passport stamp then off to the pharmacist who would make sure all asthma patients had an asthma chamber refill any meds needed receive fourth Passport stamp then lastly gather in conference room where we had healthy snacks, string cheese, bottled waster, apples, oranges, popcorn. After we collected all patients the MD's would do a Q & I questions targeted for Asthma then the kids would play games such as pen-the-lungs on the person (I came up with that one) after playing games wining prizes the end of their visit would receive their final passport stamp and a certificate of completing Annual Asthma Class!
Greeting our patients, Checking in/out patients, Registering patients,. processing insurances, answering phones, processing , calls, confirmation calls, managing our "cancellation list" outreach at local events. I have picked up many words of a different language which seems to help me a bunch and patients seem to enjoy. It seems to break the ice with patients and working in the back office now front I have picked up may words especially since I started in family planning I am thinking many of my words would be helpful at this job.
