I am currently in my second year of the Artist Diploma program at the McDuffie Center for Strings in Macon, GA. Aside from my responsibilities as a student, I also am responsible for helping out in the main office as an office assistant. My duties include; clerical tasks such as filing, printing and copying music, coordinating various gigs for the center, communicating with faculty and staff, organizing events, etc.
I have played the violin since I was three years old, and received a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance. I currently freelance as a substitute violinist in nearby orchestras, teach private violin lessons, and get hired to play at weddings and other events.
During college, I would return home to Hawaii for winter and summer breaks, and I began working at the Hawaii Cat Cafe. I worked as a barista and cashier on the drinks side of the cafe, and as a cat adoption counselor on the cat side. I learned many valuable skills such as communication, organization, efficiency, patience, etc.
I worked as a server during my summer break in a Retirement Home located in Hawaii. I learned how to work in a fast-paced environment, as we had a set time to serve the customers their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also learned to deal with more difficult customers, because some of the elderly folks were often grumpy or picky about their food orders. I learned to always present myself with a happy, positive attitude, in hopes of cheering my customers up as well.
