I started my career many years ago with NYSDOT as a seasonal employee before working my way up to HMW1 and eventually HMS2. Along the way I learned many skills and performed duties related to highway maintenance. Some of the skills included, operations of a heavy dump, opp, front end loader, forklift, wood chipper, backhoe, grader, chainsaw, bucket truck, etc. I then moved up to HMS1 at the Harrisville location. Here I operated a crew, organized daily work assignments, worked with other HMS1's and HMS2's to move staff around to effectively perform work that needed to be done in a timely manner, as well as created a schedule of work that needed to be accomplished throughout the season. I also implemented work, locations, materials, and equipment used into the computer database everyday. Additionally I organized a plan to set up a safe and effective workzone to effectively perform job duties and also ensure the safety of the crew and travelling public on a daily basis. I then decided on a career path that took me in a different direction where I became an assistant manager of an RV business. Here I worked with staff to ensure deadlines on service was met, sales operations on new and used units went smoothly, inventory levels were effectively stocked, and customer satisfaction was met on a daily basis. I expanded my skills here in customer service, time management, overseeing operations on a daily basis, as well as motivating a team to meet deadlines in a safe and organized fashion that met the standards of the dealership. I pride myself on being self motivated, hard working, quick to pick up new skills, working well with others, taking job assignments well from others, good communication skills, and an all around team player.
