Duties: Maintain variety of fixed or semi-fixed production machinery and equipment used in manufacture, renovation, and demilitarization of conventional ammunition
Run diagnostic testing and troubleshooting all equipment and machinery to determine cause of malfunction .Plan and layout work for installation of new machinery and equipment
Breakdown equipment and equipment components inspecting parts and replacing as required
Maintain or repair fixed and semi-fixed production machinery and equipment
Make adjustments and repairs to production machinery and equipment
Replace defective parts and components of production machinery to assure equipment stays in operational status
Dismantle, move or relocate complex equipment systems also install new machinery to include their founding anchoring system
Plan actions/work to complete basic work task to minimize downtime and improve work efficiency
Utilize standard formulas, mathematics, and industrial practices in calculating needed materials or problem solving
Use powered hand tools such as grinders, drills, impact wrenches, and saws to fabricate or repair equipment or machinery
Conduct daily testing of equipment for proper operation
Identify various forms of metal and alloy materials needed to make repairs
Use various test equipment such as pressure gauges and flow meters to diagnose system faults
Use daily measuring devices such as levels, feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, tachometers and calipers to repair or adjust machinery or equipment as well as close tolerance measuring devices to ensure proper fit or installation of machinery or parts and components
Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems of production machinery or equipment to determine cause of malfunction
Remove or inspect damaged components to determine proper course of action needed to replace or repair components
Conduct safe working conditions to meet industrial standards such as fall protection, Lock Out Tag Out and confined space entry
Am responsible for and oversee complex of high hazard explosive production buildings
Supervise and perform maintenance on existing equipment, modify equipment as necessary, and install new equipment, while staying within OSHA guidelines and military safety procedures
Have expertise level experience that demonstrates ability to provide direction and leadership to subordinate staff in accomplishment of daily work flow to crews with various skill levels including: electrical, heating, plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal, roofing, repair of facilities, utilities, roads, grounds maintenance
Possess and Utilize knowledge of materials and information necessary to troubleshoot machinery problems, to determine when to make major repairs, how far to disassemble machines or equipment, whether to repair or replace defective mechanisms, and ability to readjust or realign as appropriate
Install, align, repair, overhaul, and maintain numerous types of fixed and semi fixed production machinery and equipment used in manufacture, renovation and demilitarization of conventional ammunition
Am assigned to complex of buildings to maintain existing equipment, modify equipment as necessary, and install new equipment
As production workload required, shift from one operation to another

Troubleshoot all systems on machinery and equipment to determine most probable cause of malfunction and make repairs (systems include all power supplies, controls, electric, air, hydraulic steam, etc

Make adjustments and repairs to equipment or machinery, diagnose trouble, disassemble, and obtain repair parts, install, reassemble, adjust and test for proper operation

Handle weights of about 100 lbs.
Use hoists, dollies and cranes when available for lifting heavy objects
Stand, stoop, crawl, and work in strained and awkward positions as required
Have good coordination and balance in working around machinery while in operation
Most work perform is indoors
Work in uncomfortable conditions such as noise, dirt, grease, vibrations, poor illumination and ventilation, and unpleasant odors
Am exposed to possibility of burns from hot water and steam while working on high pressure steam lines
Am subject to strains, cuts, and bruises while working with wrenches and other tools
Am subject to hazards of working around moving machinery; and subjected to explosive hazards while working on production equipment while explosive operations are in progress
Break down machinery, replace and rework damaged parts, obtain repair parts, components, reassemble and operate equipment to perform functional tests and make adjustments as necessary
Troubleshoot all systems on equipment to determine most probable cause of malfunction, make adjustments and repairs to machinery
Examples include: deep cavity drills, defusing machines, remote control devices, metal working machines such as: lathes, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic and mechanical presses, brakes, shears, packing machinery, automatic heat sealing machines, pneumatic and electrical staplers, power banding machines.
Install plant equipment such as: saw dust collection systems, exhaust systems, power conveyers, industrial hoists scissor lifts, paint booths, vats and dip tanks, sandblast machines, air compressors, water pumps, air, gas, oil, water and uncovered steam lines.
Interpret instructions, specifications, and am capable of reading various types of blueprints, drawings, and schematics such as: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and air logic circuits, along with building plans
Use and maintain tools and equipment to include close tolerance measuring devices and electrical test equipment have organized supervised confined space entries organized maintenance schedules for production buildings Have skytrak, scissor lift, JLG, and forklift license
Interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings and/or equipment manuals to diagnose complex systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical
Use various portable machines and hand tools to repair and install equipment and machinery
Breakdown parts and accessories to foundations, installs, and repairs foundations for operating machinery, and connects steam lines, hydraulic lines, air hose couplings, fuel lines, lubrication systems, and any other power source prior to operation
Use variety of test equipment and measuring devices for troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment and machinery
Install, replace, or repair various pipes, shut-off valves, joints, unions, flanges, safety valves, and other fixtures; removed, assembled, or hung pipe, also marked, cut and drilled holes and openings in walls, floors and covering pipes with insulating material
Remove, assemble, lay or hang pipe
Receive, store and maintain records of tools and materials
Perform pipefitting tasks such as installing, replacing, or repairing various pipes, valves, joints, unions, flanges, and other fixtures, safety valves, ceiling or wall radiators, and other fixtures
Had to set and adjusting die to cutter or threaded
Measured, cut, and threaded lengths of pipe; removing, assembling, laying, or hanging pipe; marking and cutting or drilling holes and openings in walls or floors; eliminating water hammer in steam lines by changing pitch of branches to risers; and covering pipes with insulating material
Received, stored, identified, issued, and maintained records of tools and materials such as: conduit benders, pipe wrenches, pipe dies, pipe vices, wire-pulling tapes, hole saws, electric hammers, impact wrenches, hydraulic knock-out cutters, and meggers
Inventoried all tools at prescribed intervals and checks bin cards frequently to assure accurate stock levels are maintained
Picks up from warehouse materials purchased for specific jobs, labels those materials to job orders, and occasionally delivers these materials to job site Know how to layout and cut from templates.
Form metal parts into desired shapes with hand and power tools, and other equipment
Assemble and fasten fabricated parts by installing bolts, rivets, screws and/or seaming, soldering, and spot welding
