Accomplishments

  • Developed an Organizational Development and Training Division from scratch that created transformational culture change citywide. It offered professional development opportunities, increasing Oakland's retention rate from 55% to 68%. Saw outcomes of closing equity gaps in promotions for women and people of various diverse backgrounds.
  • Developed an employee engagement program from scratch: Oakland ROCKS (Recognizing Oakland Culture, Kindness and Service). The program manages all events in the city of 5000 employees around social inclusion and celebration of diversity, employee recognition of service, and increasing organizational health.
