Accomplishments

As a single mother of three I made the decision to return to school. After four years of dedication and hard work I "finally" graduated with Honors from University of Nevada Reno with a degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice

This educational foundation set the stage for a life dedicated to serving others.

For my work in the community I was awarded the prestigious Nevada Women's Fund Award and the Nancy Gojack Award for Community Service.

A pioneer in volunteer service, I started the first Senior Volunteer Program at Sparks Family Hospital, creating multiple opportunities for Seniors based on their interests working in various areas of the Hospital.

I saw a need at the Washoe County Detention facility and established the first women detainee's group, this proved very successful resulting in a full waiting list and a creation of additional groups.

While working in a Cardiology office I recognized a need and created and ran a support group for cardiology patients with newly implanted internal defibrillator devices.

My dedication and work with the local at risk population was recognized by the 1st District Court of Nevada and the Rotary Club of Nevada, I was presented the prestigious "Service Above Self Award"
