As a PCA/CNA i would start my shift by receiving shift report, of all my Patient and other assigned. report consist of there meals. diets intake ,fluid restriction. weather they are diabetic, cardiac , pre op patient / post op patients. allergy. there medical status in regards to life saving measures. Provide excellent patient care bathing, assisting with ambulation range of motions . daily care activities with meals clothing, personal hygiene care. preform vitals and accu cheks for glucose monitoring, ekg, place tele pac reassuring patients that i am here to provide the best care possible. and that the call button is with in reach. communicate with nurses and physician's of patient needs/ changes in patient health provide excellent customer service multi tasking is a must, answer patients as they sign and are being discharged, phone etiquette. faxing or scanning patient requesting release of info of medical documents, computers skills , insurance research of coverage insurances. helping patient apply for medical insurance (AHCCCS,MEDICARE,HIPPA etc). over all a little bit of clerical, customer services and patient care ,
