I work in a clinic in Pacific city Oregon where we have up to multiple providers in there a day that range from primary care to specialties such as behavioral health of all different forms, including psychiatry, I’ve worked with podiatry, audiology, urology, cardiology general surgery, orthopedic, ENT, radiology even with coordination of surgery and many others, not enough room to list I’m sure. I schedule patients appointment appointments as they leave or I have multiple referrals, to choose from which I call. I know how to check for insurance. I know how to check to see if they are valid and I know what insurances are out of network for certain things. I’m aware of how certain insurances require prior authorization and others don’t. I know almost all the steps of behind the scenes needs for a patient, beginning with the appointment onto pre reg and the necessary follow-through after that. Patient care is absolutely my number one priority, but I’m also aware of how the numbers for our facilities are absolutely necessary as well in order to be able to offer good care for our patients. I am currently in charge of handling all the behavioral health referrals for six different clinics for the Adventist health Coastal facilities that happen to include Veronia and Estacada. This includes calling on patients whos providers put the referrals in, ensuring their insurances, valid and in network, verifying all demographics, placing them on the schedule and assisting with rescheduling them as necessary if providers call out. I am also in charge of scheduling all of Adventist healths new hires so this is scheduling the pre-work screen physicals that mostly just includes their DAU and quant testing. I handle all the emails in reference to this for Adventist health Tillamook locations. I also handle the on boarding of the city of Newport firefighter physicals, workers comp, and just about everything related to occupational medicine and anything internal requested and necessary for our facility that may be medically necessary and required for employees. I have also worked in registration and still do and fill in for every so often I’ve done everything in that clinic at any given time from opening to close handling our faxes and phone calls and direct communication with the providers. I can offer multiple letters of recommendations from both providers, coworkers and and current management.

I am actually still kind of in training with this, but have done some shadowing and I’ve already worked with patients and I truly enjoy it and I hope to be able to do it for a very long time. My absolute goal in life is to help people and make a difference.
Aside from my children, my most prized possession is a Clinical Save Award issued by the Zoll (AED) company. It recorded a CPR interaction between me and a patient where it indicated the patient did in fact die and I was able to bring them back while performing CPR and using the AED.
