Tv mainboard repair project
the project was really fun I got theses 2 TVs for 50$ the one tv laying face down has issue where it had no sound or pictures so I had to figure out and diagnose and troubleshoot why it was not turning on. I use my multimeter to check the power on the power supply the reads looked good
physically looked out the board very closely to see if there's any burnt marks or bulging capacitors and leaking. capacitors, I noticed the board had some corrosion on it so I got some 91% isopropyl alcohol and cleaned the board then did some more troubleshooting on how to reflow the soldering back to the chips which I never ever heard of that before I pull out my heat gun. set it to the lowest setting and heat it up the main board for about 60 seconds. wait for it to cool down then reinstall the mainboard back in the TV and it worked The LEDs lit up it showed picture and had sound. the second TV I diagnosed had a boot loop issue where it would boot and keep booting but it would never get to the main screen so I took it apart. inspected the power supply, the main board and the t-con board everything look good. pulled the main board clean it up a little bit use the heat gun to refill the solder back to the chips waiting for the board to cool down before reinstalling it back in the TV put the team back together. plugged it in and long. behold at booter to the main screen and it works great now.
