As a visual lead at target, I am able to support a great guest experience through many different aspects and functions. I ensure that each visual moment is set and maintained to the visual merch guide that is available to me. I play a key role with upholding visual standards which include specific merchandising techniques, fixture blocking, lighting quality, and store marketing implementation. It is important as a visual lead that I maintain knowledge of department sales trends in order to make decisions throughout the store on a daily basis. It is also important that I set time each week to plan and organize my workload to ensure precise time management. My team relies on my knowledge and expertise in order to learn and gain the confidence to operate at the highest possible level when it comes to implementing changes throughout the store in my place. Aside from my visual responsibilities, I also oversee and lead the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) role within my store. This role consists of educating and coaching the entire store on different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, disabilities, sexual orientations and so much more. Each month consists of different celebrations and topics dependent on the different holidays or celebrations that take place in different cultures or groups. I partner with the HR team and we create informational posters and art to showcase for the team members to better inform them of what is happening that specific month. We also perform activities catered to the celebrations in order to engage the team on a more active level. Being the DEI captain has helped fine tune my leadership skills and allowed me to showcase the diversity that is present within the workplace.

Throughout my role as a Visual Merchandising Keyholder at H&M, I was responsible for many different aspects of the company. One of the most important tasks that I handled on a daily basis was overseeing each of the commercial re-sets that took place within each department. This also included guiding and coaching the sales advisors as they supported my co-visual and I throughout the re-merch process. Another vital role within my job function was to monetize and regulate the signage and marketing throughout the store in order to ensure that everything was up to date as far as marketing was concerned. Both of the previous tasks were in preparation of the many district walks that would take place on a bi-monthly basis. During these walks, I would lead and present my work to the district visual manager. I would cover each department in depth and present my choices for substituting any product changes, mannequin styling changes, and destination changes throughout the department to better serve the customers and the company. I spent a great amount of time attending monthly visual calls. Not only to gain more insight and ideas on different visual aspects, but also to share my thoughts and ideas with others in order to create more connection within the visual community of the company. Aside from my daily operations as a visual, I also held responsibility for the leadership aspect of the company as well. This responsibility included opening the store and performing cash office duties, coaching and developing the team on many different aspects of company policies, and occasionally supporting with closing store operations as well. All of these operations were in the best interest of the customers, to ensure that I can create best experience for them when they enter an H&M building.
