Ramp Agent
Ramp Agent, also known as a fleet service agent or baggage handler, is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail on and off aircraft, as well as other ground support tasks. They operate and maintain ground support equipment, ensuring aircraft are prepared for departure and arrival, and collaborate with other ground operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading/Unloading:
Safely and efficiently load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft using various equipment like carts, conveyor belts, and containersOperate and maintain ground support equipment such as belt loaders, baggage carts, ground power units, and air conditioning units for aircraft.Assist with aircraft services like servicing lavatories, water ports.Direct aircraft to designated parking areas and tow/push back aircraft from gates.Ensure safety and security of aircraft, passengers, and ground operations personnel.Communicate with flight crews and ground operations teams to coordinate activities and address any issues. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to operate various ground support equipment, including belt loaders and baggage carts.
