- Currently while working as a Canine Enforcement Officer conducted primary and secondary vehicular inspections. Also conducted Cargo container and shipment inspections as part of Cargo or with my Canine unit. Conducted trainings in the improvement of the canines ability to detect narcotics and or concealed humans. Provided other Canine units with training assistance.
While working as a Canine Enforcement Officer I have actively searched with my canine unit for possible smuggling attempts during pre primary operations as well as second chance operations after primary traffic has been processed. - While working passport control secondary Initiated criminal prosecutions and cooperated with law enforcement agencies in the investigation and prosecution of travelers in violation of immigration or customs laws.
- As a primary and secondary officer Identified and seized contraband, undeclared merchandise and vehicles or pedestrians containing such merchandise. Provided assistance as well as requested assistance from units to include Agriculture Specialists, Enforcement Officers, Passport Control Secondary Officers, ATCET Officers, Canine Officers, Homeland Security Investigations, Border Patrol, Department of Public Safety, Local Police Department, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. As a secondary and primary CBP Officer utilized non intrusive inspections such as ZPORTAL, ASTROPHYSICS, RADSEEKER, VEHICLE LIFT, BUSTER, to fully inspect and examine vehicles baggage, and other personal items upon entering or leaving the country to verify adherence to customs requirements and identify suspected violations.
- During secondary referrals and inspections for different areas to include admissibility and enforcement inspections also conducted subject queries and fully inspected vehicles utilizing all tools available 7 point, zportal, scope, vehicle lift, K9, for proper inspection. Supported law enforcement agencies by providing accurate and timely intel regarding illegal activity and testimony to facts related to traveling subjects and itineraries. During negative inspections provided intel of possible illegal activity for future inspections.
- During cargo operations and functions evaluated shipments and commodities including manifests to determine duty and taxes due, completed applicable paperwork and informed travelers of expected liabilities. I have accessed and utilized systems used for proper cargo functions. Utilized non intrusive inspections to include VXML, RADSEEKER to properly inspect containers and commodities.
- Trained in seized property security for transport. Training included tactical skills to securely transport as a convoy seized property to include narcotics. Training included routines to effectively deal with live fire from threats when transporting property. Training also included IFAK and provided the basics to rendering aid to wounded individuals to include civilians and government officials.
- Official duties as officer in charge planned and executed duties for all officers on shift. Assisted trainee officers with resolving issues including questions or concerns of immigration, processing, admissibility, primary and secondary systems and functions. Identified issues and analyzed information provided by officers to provide solutions to problems.
