The Taproom Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the brewery's taproom to ensure a welcoming, efficient, and profitable customer experience. This role includes managing staff, coordinating events, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws, maintaining high standards of customer service, and representing the brewery brand to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Taproom Operations
- Ensure the taproom is opened and closed according to standard procedures
- Oversee daily cleanliness, organization, and ambiance of the taproom
- Ensure draft systems, POS systems, and other equipment are functional and properly maintained
- Monitor inventory of beer, merch, and supplies; coordinate restocking as needed
2. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback
- Foster a positive team culture with a focus on professionalism, customer service, and accountability
3. Customer Experience
- Maintain a welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient customer environment
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and care
- Educate guests about the brewery’s beers, events, and brand story
4. Sales & Promotions
- Collaborate on beer releases, happy hours, and merchandise promotions
- Track sales trends and suggest ideas for growth or improvement
- Upsell beer and merchandise when appropriate
5. Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate taproom events, such as trivia, live music, and private parties
- Work with food trucks and vendors to enhance the taproom experience
- Represent the brewery at offsite events when needed
6. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all taproom operations comply with local, state, and federal alcohol laws
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for staff and customers
- Enforce all policies, including age verification and responsible alcohol service
Event Coordinator
Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all taproom events to drive traffic, enhance guest experience, and build community engagement.
Duties:
- Plan and manage recurring events (trivia, bingo, live music, tournaments, etc.)
- Coordinate with performers, vendors, and food trucks to ensure smooth execution
- Manage event calendar and ensure proper staffing and coverage
- Oversee setup, flow, and breakdown of events during execution
- Develop and execute special events (anniversaries, holiday parties, beer releases, themed events)
- Handle private event bookings, including communication, logistics, and contract adherence
- Evaluate event performance and adjust future programming based on attendance and sales
Social Media & Marketing Manager
Responsible for promoting the brewery’s brand, events, and products through digital channels and in-house marketing efforts.
Duties:
- Create and schedule content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Develop promotional campaigns for events, beer releases, and taproom specials
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity
- Coordinate creation of graphics, signage, and in-house promotional materials
- Engage with customers online by responding to comments, messages, and reviews
- Track engagement and performance metrics to refine marketing strategies
- Collaborate on email marketing, website updates, and online ordering promotions
Sales Manager – Self-Distribution
Responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with local accounts and increasing off-premise and on-premise beer sales.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain relationships with bars, restaurants, and retail partners
- Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities within the local market
- Coordinate deliveries and manage distribution logistics
- Track inventory allocated for distribution and ensure product availability
- Represent the brewery at tastings, tap takeovers, and promotional events
- Monitor sales performance and adjust strategy to meet growth goals
