- Ensure drawings of railcar valves match the preexisting valves that were inbound on the car.
- Work closely with the GATX Engineering Department when discrepancies are found between railcar drawings and physical arrangement on the railcar.
- Quote material and components from vendors needed for completion of bill of materials.
- Ensure Valve and Coil material totes are completed with all material on hand and in tote.
- Calibrate valve room torque wrenches and pressure gages.
- Ensure all other equipment that cannot be calibrated in house gets shipped to proper vendor for calibration
- Work closely with Quality Assurance Department on OIR cars and helping with investigations of OIRs that are Valve and Coil related.
- Daily QA checks of completed valve rebuild paperwork on completed rebuild.
- Spot audits on completed valve sets.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed valve sets, ensuring adherence to quality standards and GATX guidelines.
- Boost staff morale and performance through recognition and ongoing feedback sessions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination for POD cars for the week.
- Communicate repair needs to maintenance staff.
- Increase employee performance through effective supervision and training.
