Logistics Manager

  • Oversee costs of intercompany logistics movements between our 4 facilities in North America (Montreal, Tijuana, Puebla, Winston Salem).
  • Travel to our facilities to work with the Shipping and Foreign Trade teams to learn to do processes that align with our corporate practices.
  • Build relationships with 3PL warehouse providers over the US, working with them to distribute our products to our customers on time, in full, to meet the demands needed of our customers. Built partnerships in San Diego, Houston, Dallas, and Laredo, TX
  • Oversaw internal invoicing between facilities
  • Oversaw an audit from US Customs for a discrepancy in anti dumping payments. Worked closely and professionally enough that we simply had to pay the back charges and suffered no penalties or fines.
  • Work with our Finance team to ensure all freight payments are confirmed and accounted for.
  • Implemented our warehouse management system, SAP, in 4 different plant warehouses,
  • Be the go between for our warehouses and the operations staff so that everyone is kept in line with the most accurate information.
  • Talk to our customers about their issues in receiving our goods and problem solve the ways to fix.
  • Reduced our shipping time from our Mexico operation to our US warehouse to a target of 8 days door to door.

Foreign Trade & Raw Materials

  • Process all necessary documents for import and export including ISF filing, HTS confirmations, Freight payments, SLI creation, Invoicing, Wood Pallet certifications, etc.
  • Controlled all aspects of inbound freight up until it is received in the warehouse.
  • Set up and maintained our duty drawback program, which has so far resulted in almost $700k in drawback refunds.
  • Set up and maintained our ACE accounts.
  • Owned the raw material inventory from reception to use in production.
  • Handled the yearly audits with PriceWaterhouseCooper on our inventory, always with a passing grade.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy of up to 4m kgs of yarns, with almost 400 individual types, spread over multiple warehouses.
  • Ultimately responsible to make sure everything was delivered to production on time so there was no loss in time.
