As Chief Administrator I answered directly to the Sheriff and maintained all secured present and past Willacy County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) personnel files. As Chief Administrator I coordinated and participated in employment interview boards as well as conducted background investigations into prospective new employees. As Chief Administrator I composed employee injury reports regarding all line-of-duty injuries sustained by WCSO personnel and provide these said reports to our Willacy County Treasurer's Office for further management. As Chief Administrator I would create, provide, and maintain all WCSO personnel identification cards. As Chief Administrator I was also the WCSO Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Administrator. As CJIS Administrator I would compile and maintain all WCSO CJIS reporting accounts, tend to any CJIS related issues such as allegations of CJIS violations and security breaches and ensure WCSO CJIS compliance. As CJIS Administrator I would compile and submit annual mandated CJIS reporting as this compliance and reporting was also a grant funding requirement. As Chief Administrator I was also the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) Liaison, ensuring CJIS compliance to TAC and promoting training for WCSO personnel through the TAC portal. As Chief Administrator I also reviewed/authorized purchases and complete the necessary purchasing documentation such as purchase orders. As Chief Administrator I was also the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) Secure Site Administrator. As Chief Administrator I was responsible for compiling/submitting our WCSO's annual Racial Profiling report via the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Data Distribution System (TCLEDDS) which is also a grant-funding requirement. As Chief Administrator I would also compile/submit monthly WCSO National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) (IBR Reports) monthly reports via our Eforce records management system for entry into our Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which is also a grant-funding requirement.   • (03/19/2005 - 03/26/2013) As a Detective I investigated reports generated by the Patrol Division. Investigations ran the gamut of offenses throughout penal code, health and safety code, traffic code, among all of the other massive bodies of state laws. As a Detective I would interview and obtain statements from victims and witnesses as well as interrogate suspects and obtain confessions from suspects. Being the only Detective fluent in the Spanish language I would interview and obtain statements from victims and witnesses in the Spanish language as well as interrogate and obtain confessions from suspects in the Spanish language. As a Detective I would also assist our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in criminal investigations. As a Detective I would also testify in court regarding criminal cases that I either lead and/or participated in. As a Detective I would also conduct Internal Administrative Investigations (Internal Affairs) regarding any allegation of misconduct by Raymondville Police Department personnel. As a Detective I was assigned as the Custodian of Evidence, responsible for maintaining the Raymondville Police Department's evidence room and presenting evidence in court during trial. Upon becoming a Detective I was also assigned as Coordinator of the Willacy County Crimestoppers (WCC) program. As WCC Coordinator I was the liaison between the WCC and local, state and federal law enforcement, maintaining a cellular telephone where I would receive calls at all hours of the day and night from anonymous callers providing information regarding criminal activities. I would follow-up on the leads generated from these anonymous calls which lead to the recovery of evidence, apprehension of wanted individuals, identification of suspects, among other crime-solving results. I would forward all non-Raymondville Police Department case anonymous information received to the respective agency responsible for the jurisdiction identified. As WCC Coordinator I would attend a weekly meeting with the WCC Board, of which I was a non-voting member, where I would assist in the coordination of WCC fundraisers, recruitment drives, required Crimestoppers Program trainings, and any other WCC matters. At these meetings I would provide a synopsis of the information received from an anonymous call that resulted in an arrest or made a significant impact on a criminal case investigation and would recommend a reward amount based on a reward determination matrix. The WCC board would then vote on the reward recommendation and would either approve or alter the reward amount. I would then await a call from the anonymous caller at a pre-determined time and would then provide the caller with instructions on receiving of their reward. As WCC Coordinator I would also conduct bilingual WCC promotional presentations at schools, prisons, adult day care facilities, community events, local news media, and civic group meetings in. As WCC Coordinator I would also meet with our local newspaper every Tuesday to publish the "Crime of the Week", which was a brief synopsis of a crime that we were seeking the public's assistance in solving. WCC was an invaluable tool that assisted me in solving many criminal cases, recover evidence, locate and apprehend criminals, and produce leads regarding criminal activities occurring in Raymondville and throughout Willacy County. During my tenure with the Raymondville Police Department, I attended numerous trainings with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

As a bartender at the VFW I sold and served alcoholic drinks to customers.
