Boat Building/Reconstruction

In February 2023 I purchased a 1973 Stamas 24' hardtop and rebuilt it by myself from top to bottom. It was an excellent learning experience and offered me a great opportunity to deploy problem solving skills. The restoration consisted of a wide variety of things which I will list below:


  • Removal of the cabin roof
  • Removal of the rotten deck
  • Removal of the old motor
  • Removal of all wiring, pumps, hoses
  • Removal of fuel tank
  • Replacement of fuel tank
  • Replacement of deck
  • Construction of a custom addition to the boats cabin to raise the height of the roof by 18"
  • Reattaching the roof to the custom addition
  • Sanding and Filling all aspects of the boat through the fairing process to prep for paint
  • New Spray paint job Hull, Topside, and interior
  • New motor and rigging installation
  • Motor Maintenance (Waterpumps, Thermostats, Oil change, Gearlube Change, Trim actuator replaced)
  • New wiring and Electronics (Multiple displays, Gauges, Radar, thru hull Transducer, Pumps, Switch panel, Lights)
  • Swivel rod holders installed
