- I watched a total knee replacement learning how the surgeon sterilizes and prepares for the surgery
- I also noted how the other people in the room such as the physician assistant would operate and how efficient the whole surgery went
- I also saw a shoulder rotator cuff surgery
- I was introduced to the anesthesiologist and saw what a normal day was for him before this surgery
- I learned a lot about the medical field during this week and each individuals significance in an operating room

- I floated around many different roles but the most prevalent roles were being an assistant in the emergency room and working the front desk at the radiology department
- When in the ER, I would transport patients, clean up the rooms after patients would be discharged, and build relationships with patients to make them feel more comfortable (when I had the chance)
- In the radiology department, I would check patients in, organize files, and transport patients to their designated rooms
