Secretary

Carroll County Tag and Title Office
Carrollton, GA
08.1984 - 04.1989
  • I was in charge of typing up automobile tags and registration as well as contacting the State of Georgia to have a title changed previous owners to current owners.
  • Transferring ownership from one vehicle owner to another owner. If not typed in correctly, the state would automatically kick the tag out, meaning the owner had to reapply and always have legal ownership papers. Doing this type of automobile tag and title applications was much different in the eighties. All residents that owned a vehicle had to come in person to our Tag Office in person and bring the vehicle registration paperwork that the state of Georgia had mailed out. Each county in Georgia had to have their vehicle registration and tag by April 1 each year. This meant that their would usually be lines of people from my desk that was located in the lobby of The Carroll County Courthouse all the way out the door and down the sidewalk. Usually it entailed a minimum of a two hour wait standing in line. People waiting till the deadline to save having to pay taxes till the last minute.
  • We, the secretaries had to help each resident in our county get their tag and do this to the best of our ability while keeping the residents calm.
  • This was a seasonal job for me. Tag season was January 1 through April 1 of each year. I continued to work through the month of April for the late customers that didn’t make the deadline.
  • I also worked in The Carroll County Tax Commissioners Office during property tax season. When the end of each season ended I would go to work in another office in the Courthouse. I also worked in The Tax Assessors Office. I worked in the Tax Map Department.

Additional Information

I’d like to note that the absence of employment basically from 2001 to present date was a result of health issues. I was diagnosed with both Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and my rheumatologist suggested I take some time away from work to focus on my health. I did not want to stop working. I always loved working. I loved the energy, the accomplishment of having a project become successful. I love being a part of something great.

I did however discontinue working and focused on my health. It took quite some time to get to the point I’m at. I wasn’t only focused on my health during this time. I was ver fortunate to have four grandchildren during this time and able to participate in their lives. I’m in remission now. Feeling great. I’d really love the opportunity to use my skills and be productive with a business such as yours.

I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look at my résumé. I hope to hear from you soon.

If you consider me as an employee I feel that I would be a valuable asset to your company.
