Support district-wide safety and security operations for Berthoud Schools through proactive patrol, emergency response, and collaboration with school administrators, district administrators and law enforcement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and random patrols across district campuses.
• Support and participate in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Conduct daily door checks and facility security inspections.
• Mentor and build positive relationships with students to promote a safe school climate.
• Respond to and assist with medical, safety, and security incidents.
• Conduct searches when appropriate and document findings accurately.
• Complete dispatch reports and maintain detailed incident documentation.
• Assist administrators and law enforcement with investigations as needed.
• Follow all district-provided training, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Taser certified and train constantly with law enforcement for trending items including drugs, sexual trafficking, gangs, as well as other trends for officer and community safety.

• Ensured school safety by conducting interior and exterior checks. I also performed ID checks after lunchtime.
• Searches were conducted when needed, and I would perform a thorough hands-free search of students during school, as trained by the district. There were also bag checks at sporting events and multiple overtime events.

• We conducted several rounds at various facilities both internally and externally when someone was unavailable.
• Assisted my supervisor with new hire onboarding and led safety drills in facilities flexibly.
