Work History

Case Manager

Professional Nursing Services
Gordon, GA
07.2017 - 11.2019
  • I began working with PNS as Case Manager for the entire client census. I was responsible for maintaining patient records, completing and submitting state and corporate documents, assisting with staff schedules, developing and maintaining communication and cooperation with caregivers and with staff, plus ensuring that staff education, performance appraisals, and licensure records were kept current. PNS closed shortly after the owner’s death in 2019.

Administrator

US Renal Care
Milledgeville, GA
03.2005 - 04.2006
  • I was Administrator for the company’s dialysis facilities in Milledgeville, Eatonton, and Monticello for several months while training nurse managers at those facilities. I then became Administrator for the Eisenhower, Macon facility until I retired in 2006. I earned a national Certified Dialysis Nurse accreditation during this period. As Administrator, I was responsible for all facility operations such as meeting state, federal, and corporate regulations, staffing, patient vitals and labs monitoring, team building, staff education, ordering supplies and billing.

Administrator

Davita Dialysis
Milledgeville, GA
05.2002 - 03.2005
  • I was Administrator for Davita Milledgeville for three years until the majority of the physicians I worked with decided to contract with a different dialysis company and subsequently asked me to transfer with them. I accepted their offer because it was an advancement opportunity. As Administrator, I was responsible for all facility operations such as meeting state, federal, and corporate regulations, staffing, patient vitals and labs monitoring, team building, ordering supplies and billing.

Staff Nurse

Dodge County Hospital
Eastman, GA
01.1995 - 01.2002
  • I worked in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit as a staff nurse and charge nurse. I was responsible for assigned patients in the ICU, monitoring the telemetry patients hospital-wide, and attending all patient codes during my shifts. I worked weekend nights and I left this job for a dayshift management position.

Agency RN

ATC Nursing Services
North New Hyde Park, NY
01.1990 - 01.2002
  • I worked part-time as an agency RN at hospitals in Macon, Milledgeville, Hawkinsville, Waycross, Atlanta, Sparta, and Savannah. These shifts were usually in the ICU or ER, but I sometimes worked as a floor nurse.

Nurse Tech

Medical Center of Central Georgia
Macon, GA
01.1983 - 01.1995
  • I began work at MCCG as a nurse tech on a med-surg/neuro floor. I remained on that floor for three years after graduating and obtaining licensure. I then transferred to the Neuro ICU where I remained for seven years and where I advanced to shift nurse (which was night shift assistant manager). I earned a hemodynamic monitoring certification during that time. I then transferred to dialysis as a charge nurse at the urging of that unit’s nurse manager. I left MCCG for a Baylor position (work 24 hours every weekend for 40 hours full time pay) at a different hospital when MCCG terminated its Baylor program.

I retired in 2006 when my husband retired. My activities during retirement included RV traveling with my husband, classes at Macon State College and University, becoming a CASA volunteer, serving as secretary for our POA, gardening, and enjoying being a voracious reader. Unfortunately, my beloved husband succumbed to cancer in 2016. I returned to work as a nurse in 2017. I became a foster parent for complex care children in 2019. I started caring for my first foster child in 2019 and she became my daughter in 2024. I returned to MGA in 2023 to complete the RN to BSN curriculum.
